Accountant

Salary: £36,000 – £48,000 per year

Location: Hertfordshire (office based)

Salary: will be dependent on experience and qualifications so could be anything from circa £30,000 – £40,000 so totally open for the right person!

Reporting to: Senior Accounts Manager

Duties

Working as an accountant with this certified accountancy practice you’ll need to perform the following duties:

• prepare financial statements for management review
• assist in undertaking audits, involving the examination of the organisation’s accounts, analysing risk, inspecting the organisation’s current practices, investigating any financial irregularities and recommending improvements
• review, implement and adapt new and existing financial systems and controls
• produce and analyse annual and monthly accounts
• perform personal tax returns
• corporation tax returns
• provide financial reports
• liaise with clients (individuals or businesses) or non-financial members of staff, providing financial information and advice
• deal with and advise on tax issues, ensuring compliance with tax legislation

As you progress into more senior roles, you’re likely to take on staff management responsibilities and contribute further to business strategy.

The successful candidate will:

– AAT qualification at a minimum ideally studying ACCA – this will support the salary offered

– Have experience working within accountancy sector (again, this will dictate the salary offered)

– Display unquestionable integrity, excellent verbal, and written communication.

– Demonstrate strong logical and analytical skills.

– Have experience preparing accounts for the senior accountant to review

– Knowledge of Xero ideally

– a desire to develop your career in a Certified Accountancy practice
