2nd Line Support / IT Support – up to 6 month contract

Trafalgar Square, City of Westminster, London

up to £24 per hour based on 8 hour working day, sociable working hours + possible overtime. Immediate start.

Purpose of the role:

Providing onsite technical services to deploy and manage network, server and end user infrastructure for our client based in Trafalgar Square. You will be expected to consult with the client to help them use their IT systems as effective business tools.

Main duties:

Provide 2nd line end user & infrastructure support
Deploying PCs, servers, network infrastructure and cloud services
Creating and updating documentation and configuration databases
Recording all work accurately within the Company’s systems
Carry out technical research when required, using a variety of resources
Stay abreast of the latest developments in the technologies we employ
Mentoring Junior engineers and assisting with training
Delivering high levels of customer satisfactionKnowledge, skills and experience:

Exceptional customer service and communication skills
2 to 3 years’ experience specifically in an IT support role
Experience in financial or trading institutions desirable
Enthusiasm and willingness to learn
Experience in managing and deploying the following technologies:
Windows 2008/12 Server and Active Directory
Hyper V 2012
Exchange Server 2010
Office Desktop, Windows Desktop
Cisco networking to CCNA or equivalent
Managed switches and routers
A good working knowledge of network fundamentals including TCP/IP and tools/functions such as WINS, DNS, NSLOOKUP, TRACERT & PING
A good understanding of backup and disaster recovery software and process
Using remote monitoring and remediation tools
