1:1 Teaching Assistant – Leicester, Leicestershire

Your new school

Hays Education are working in partnership with a specialist SEN service who are seeking 1:1 Teaching Assistants to support pupils within Primary schools.

Full Time and Long Term roles available to start immediately at schools within Leicester City and Leicestershire.

Your new role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils who have SEN needs such as ASD, SEMH, communication and/or interaction difficulties. You will have good communication and interaction skills allowing you to form positive relationships with pupils. You will promote pupil engagement, learning and development. In some cases, you will work with pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties so a calm and empathetic approach is important.

What you will need to succeed

You should have experience of working within in a classroom setting within the last 2 years. You should feel confident working with children on a 1:1 basis either inside or outside the classroom. You will need to be professional at all times, as well as friendly and enthusiastic. You will need to be able to communicate effectively with staff, children and parents/carers.
