Salary: £54,000 – £72,000 per year

We are looking for a junior Analyst to join the European Real Estate Equity Investments (RE Europe) team within the Real Assets group, during an exciting period of transformative change and growth. CPP Investments’ approach to real estate investment is to pursue large and scalable JV transaction opportunities with high quality partners (including GLP, Goodman, Lendlease, Westfield Unibail and Hermes), as well as pursuing private company “platform” investment opportunities (most notable examples being: Liberty Living, the third largest UK student housing business; and Citycon, the pan-Nordic retail focused REIT). CPP Investments is growing rapidly and the scale and complexity of our investment approach is constantly increasing. REs group manages a c. C$50 billion portfolio of investments globally and c. C$10 billion of gross asset value in Europe.

Based in London, you will be a key contributor to scaling the European RE business, and will be actively involved in: the analysis and execution of new investments, engaged in day to day portfolio and asset management of the existing European portfolio, and global business development initiatives. This will provide broad exposure across multiple real estate sectors and geographies.

What you will do:

Analyse Real Estate Investment Opportunities:

* Build and maintain detailed financial models to analyse opportunities

* Examine Joint Ventures, club deals and other investments

* Conduct research on property sectors and contribute towards qualitative and quantitative analysis of broader work streams

* Assist senior staff in the selection, evaluation and on-going monitoring of relationships and investments

Execute Real Estate Investments:

* Assist in the underwriting process of real estate investments

* Participate in due diligence meetings with partners and external advisors

* Coordinate closing activities internally and externally

* Contribute to investment memos and strategy papers to be presented to the investment committee

Monitor existing Real Estate Investments:

* Participate in the monitoring and management of the investments

* Prepare quantitative analysis of portfolio and asset business plans

* Review capital commitments and distributions related to real estate investments

* Coordinate with Finance & Operations with respect to monitoring ongoing investments

* Assist in building and leveraging relationships with company management teams

* Work directly with staff in other internal departments
