Release & Configuration Manager

Release & Configuration Manager – Newport, Wales – Release/Configuration Management, Java, Continuous Integration with Jenkins, ITIL, SCRUM

This position is a 3 month contract (likely to extend) based in Newport. This candidate will be eligible for security clearance or have a current sc clearance to enable an immediate start.

This position is to work for my high profile government client on a 3 month contract basis. The role is offering between £360 – £438 per day.

Key skills required by the Release & Configuration Manager:

Proven track record of successful delivery of release and configuration management in a demanding and complex technical environment.
A background in Java programming.
Experience with implementing Continuous Integration with Jenkins or an equivalent tool
Experience of delivering Continuous Delivery within an organisation
Experience of ITILv3 best practices.
Experience of working within Scrum teamsMain duties and responsibilities:

Assist in creating the continuous delivery strategy
Lead and support others to achieve continuous delivery in line with the strategy
Follow and promote the Release and Configuration Management principles, policy and processes
Create and maintain release related documentation
Provide training and coaching of others to develop and support the departments’ capability to deliver continuously
Co-ordinate and participate in regular post-implementation reviews, developing metrics evaluating release quality
Develop, improve and promote Release Management and Configuration Management concepts within the IPO
Create Technical Advisory Board (TAB) papers and provide input to TAB meetings when new tools or systems are requiredThis position is based in Newport, Wales which is commutable from Bristol, Cardiff, Swansea and Chepstow.
