An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regional Services Manager to join a leading registered charity based in Pembroke. We provide support primarily to people with learning disabilities across England and Wales. We have a strong record of delivering high quality supported living services for adults with learning disabilities.
Due to our continued expansion we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Regional Services Manager to become an active part of our Senior Management Team and lead the management and development of services in Pembrokeshire. The Regional Services Manager will be responsible for the continuous improvement in the quality of existing services, development of new services and effectively managing the regional budget.
Responsibilities will include
To ensure effective leadership, promoting a culture of transparency and continuous improvement at all times
To effectively manage the performance of both teams and individuals, directly managing and supervising Community Support Managers in line with organisational Supervision and Appraisal Policies and the Management Competency Standards.
To ensure that all operational staff within the region receive direction and support
To ensure the training and development of all staff within the region, to meet regulatory and contractual requirements
To ensure that effective personal planning processes are in place
To develop, maintain and evaluate systems and structures to promote the rights, responsibilities and diversity of individuals.
To work in partnership with local HR department on recruitment initiatives
To manage and monitor regional and individual operational budgets effectively
Ensuring all decision making with the people supported is in line with the Mental Capacity Act.
To respond effectively to commissioners’ audits & regulatory inspections by CQC/CSSIW and ensure appropriate action is taken as required.
To undertake the role of Registered Manager understanding the legal accountabilities in relation to training, recruitment, staff management, service delivery, quality assurance and safeguarding for the region
To ensure that all services delivered meet both contractual and regulatory obligations and requirements.
The successful Regional Services Manager will have:
A good standard of education
Relevant management and/or professional qualification i.e. Level 5 diploma in leadership in health and social care or an appropriate level 4 NVQ
Extensive experience of managing services within social care, to include support of people with a Learning Disability
Ability to manage geographically dispersed managers and teams
Ability to manage and motivate teams and individuals
Ability to network effectively and to develop pro-active working relationships
Ability to manage resources effectively within agreed budgets
Knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory standards
Effective written and verbal communication skills delivered with clarity and impact
Ability to problem solve and develop innovative approaches to support delivery
Full driving licence and own car
Applicants must be able to travel extensively and regularly across the region and across the organisation as required as a member of the senior management team.
The hours of work are 25 per week. Applicants must be willing to participate in the “on call” system outside of normal office hours.
