Finance Manager

We are now looking for an experienced Finance Manager to become part of the team, leading on our financial administration systems.
Finance Manager
The Finance Manager will have recent, comprehensive knowledge of Xero – we are in the process of transitioning from Sage 50 to Xero. We are also transitioning the integration of XERO with our bespoke IT system, Flight. The successful applicant will be confident in covering all aspects of book-keeping, preparation of management accounts, processing of customer and supplier invoices, credit control, payments administration as well as helping out with other office duties as necessary. Experience with cost analysis within a manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential.
The key responsibilities of the role are:
- Preparation of management accounts and reporting pack
- Producing regular performance reports
- Credit control and liaising with Customers
- Preparing VAT returns and other HMRC statutory returns
- Preparing payroll data and processing payments (payroll is outsourced)
- Raising invoices & associated paperwork
- Managing the invoice financing facility
- Managing the purchase ledger and processing supplier payments
- Processing expenses and managing petty cash
- Managing cashflow and day to day banking
- Supporting the Operations Director with costs analysis
Additional non-finance related duties include:
- Administrative support with HR such as preparation of paperwork such as letters & contracts from templates, recording notes of HR meetings, maintaining policies & procedures within the Company Handbook
- Maintaining insurance, utilities and other business service contracts
- Other ad-hoc administrative support as required.
Essential skills for the role are:
- Extensive accounts/book-keeping experience
- Excellent knowledge of Xero, we have recently transitioned from Sage50 to Xero
- Being a self-starter, well-organised and able to work without close supervision
- Excellent numeracy and literacy
- Proficient user of MS Office – especially Excel & Word
This is a key role within our senior leadership team, working with and providing support to the Managing Director, Operations Director and Business Growth Director. We are currently implementing a new bespoke ERP/finance system alongside Xero as part of a lean business process improvement project and we are looking for someone who is resourceful and looking to make a difference – this is a great opportunity for someone looking to progress their career and make a real impact.
The role is based at our offices in Nidd, near Harrogate. There is on-site parking and a flexible approach to working hours – the office is open between 7.30am – 6.00pm.
Starting remuneration is negotiable, dependent on experience circa £38,400 – £42,000per annum.
