Finance Manager

Salary: £36,000 – £48,000 per year

My client is a well-established family run business who, due to retirement, are now seeking an experience Finance Manager to join their Management team.

This is a key role for them and as such you will be commercially minded with the experience to feed into the strategy of the business offering leadership and feedback on the current processes.

Working closely with the MD and Commercial Manager you will keep ahead of current and future business opportunities, maintain a healthy cash flow, assist with business profitability, and inform strategic and commercial decisions

Managing a team of 2 who are responsible for the day-to-day accounts function you will be ACA qualified (ideally). You will positively influence the financial performance of the 2 group companies through the oversight, analysis of business information and financial risks.

Overseeing the daily accounting and bookkeeping processes and providing oversight and accountability for banking and payroll processes, using company busines systems (Sage 50) to provide reliable basis for analysing and reporting financial information and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

It goes without saying that you will have experience of producing routine management financial reports, including P&L, cashflow forecasts, asset & liability reports, bank account reconciliations etc.

Qualifications/Skills:

Essential

* AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting (Level 4) or equivalent

* Proficient in the use of Sage business systems and peripheral applications

* Solid commercial acumen

* Proficient in use of MS Office software core products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Publisher)

Desirable

* Membership of CIMA, AAT, ACCA, ICAEW or similar relevant professional body

Experience:

* Minimum 5 years’ experience as a management accountant or similar role and holding essential qualification

* Knowledge and experience of HMRC regulations for VAT, including import/export reporting

* Knowledge and experience of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) (ideally)

* Knowledge and experience of PAYE, pensions and payroll data processing

* Experienced people manager with excellent interpersonal skills
