Finance Manager

Our client is a highly successful SME company engaged in the import and distribution sector supplying up-market high street retail customers. We are seeking a commercially minded ACA/ACCA/CIMA Accountant (qualified with at least 3 years’ experience) to run the Accounting/Finance function of the company directly reporting to the Managing Director. A part qualified or qualified by experience candidate will also be considered.
Candidates must have experience working in a commercial business environment. The candidates must be self-motivated with a hands on approach as he/she will be solely responsible for the day to day activities of the accounting/finance department.
He/she must have good analytical and communication skills and must be proficient in Sage accounting systems, Excel and general IT issues.
The selected candidate must also be prepared and able to take an active role in the operational side of the business as there is an excellent potential for him/her to progress to a senior commercial position within the company in the medium term.
Areas of Responsibility
Accounting
1. Maintenance of all accounting records
2. Preparation of weekly, monthly and yearly financial reports
3. Preparation of monthly payroll, VAT returns.
4. Implementation and maintenance of accounting systems, procedures and controls.
5. Management of company’s debtors and creditors
6. Dealing with company auditors
7. Ad hoc accounting responsibilities

Financial Management
1. Preparation of budgets and forecasts
2. Management of banking transactions (local & offshore).
3. Management of Letters of Credit and other import documentation.
4. Analysis of company’s financial KPI’s against plans and forecast.
5. Weekly cash flow analysis and reporting.
6. Dealing with debtors, creditors and bank matters
7. Ad hoc financial reports

Admin
1. Management of the IT and office administration function of the business.
2. Management of import/logistics function of the business.
