We will offer the right person an attractive remuneration package that includes an annualised salary paid in 12 monthly payments, rotations of 12 weeks on/6 weeks off or the option of 12 weeks on/12 weeks off after having successfully completed 12 month’s service with Carnival UK. After 6 months service however, Officers will be eligible to receive our accompanied travel concessions for partners, spouses or family members to travel with you during your time at sea. As a 3rd Officer (Deck)/Junior Officer of the Watch, duties will include assisting in the navigation of the ship safely through open waters and other situations (as directed) using radar, ECDIS and all other bridge equipment and all other available means. You will be required to prepare and complete elements of the Cruise Information Pack as required by the First Officer and the Voyage Planning Procedures, such as bridge manning schedule, watertight door schedule, gangway schedule, tidal information, environment schedule and sunrise/sunset times. You will also monitor, interpret and apply meteorological information, such as wind speed and direction, swell height and period, tides, currents and weather forecasts, identifying and reporting issues early to ensure adjustments to the passage can be made accordingly. In addition, you will be required to work effectively with the wider members of the watch team, assisting in identifying dangers, such as approaching ships and other navigational hazards.
To be considered you must hold an Officer of the Watch (Deck) Unlimited Certificate of Competency, issued by UK MCA or other approved nationality and STCW Basic Training, ideally to include Advanced Fire Fighting. All candidates will require a valid ENG1 medical certificate (or equivalent) for the duration of each voyage and are required to obtain a US C1/D visa.
