We have a position for an Accounts Trainee at our Birmingham office, which is the main office for our established Accountancy practice.

The Accounts team is being developed to assist with client growth and it will be an interesting and challenging role for the right person and a great way to start an accounting career.

You will primarily be based at our Birmingham office but will on occasion be sent to our Client’s to assist our finance teams.

This role would ideally suit a person who is:

  • Able to start immediately
  • Who has already completed AAT Level 3 in Accountancy
  • Has experience of working in either industry or practise
  • Has a full UK driving licence and use of a car

You will work closely with the Accounts team to assist them in all aspects of accounting and admin tasks, including:

  • Answering the phone and helping with general office support
  • Posting sales and purchase invoices to an accounts system
  • Posting bank receipts and payments
  • Preparing bank reconciliation and petty cash reports
  • Produce accounting documents and reports using computerised software
  • Assisting with credit control procedures
  • Supporting the marketing team with ad-hoc marketing & administrative duties

Skills Required

Microsoft skills, particularly are essential

Computer literate

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Able to work as part of a team

  • You should aspire to and be committed to improving your skills, knowledge and gaining qualifications.
  • You must be professional in manner, outlook and appearance

Important Other Information

You will be enrolled on a AAT training course with a relevant training body, with a view to becoming a qualified AAT Accountant. You also have option of selecting a college of your choice.

The apprentice will be paid the National Minimum Wage (NMW) for apprentices for the first 12 months , which is currently £2.73p per hour. Your salary and training will be reviewed after the 12 month period.
