Night Porter – Hotel
Job Description
NIGHT PORTER (5 nights out of 7 per week) required for a hotel located in the Dartford / Wilmington area. Transport desirable for this role due to the start and finish times should you live in the local area – live out role only.
The Role of the Night Porter:
You will be covering a full range of guest services including reception, food and beverage service and banqueting setup duties. You will be part of small team of 4 responsible for guest care and security covering shifts for 5 nights per week.
Night Porters work within the Front of House team under the direction of the experienced Operations Manager.
- 5 nights out of 7, 40 hours per week including weekend shifts on a rota basis. Shifts will be from 22.00hr to 07.00hr or 23.00hr to 08.00hr. One full weekend off per month
- You will offer Guest care and service including guest check in and check out, answering/handling hotel switchboard, enquiry handling, preparing and serving light snacks/meals, banqueting setups, bar service out of hours, general porter/concierge duties
- You will be responsible for security including; completing security clock rounds, fire checks, locking up the hotel and spa, managing the front door access during the night, complying with fire prevention and fire procedures
Requirements for the role of Night Porter:
- Smart appearance
- Friendly manner
- Customer service experience
- Mature approach to customer service and safety/security issues
- Experience of night shift working preferred
The salary for Night Porter is given as £23,000 per annum (£22,000 + £1,000 per annum guaranteed service charge payment paid quarterly). There is an additional end of financial year service charge bonus also paid. Plus, other company benefits. Transport would be ideal if you live in the local area.
