Commercial Manager – Housing Regeneration – Yorkshire or North East

Mentor Recruitment is retained by a leading housing regeneration business to facilitate the planned growth of the business and recruit an exceptional Commercial Manager to lead commercial activities across the Yorkshire and North East regions.

Reporting to the Regional Director, the role will have full commercial leadership responsibility and you will be a key member of the senior management team, entrusted with profitable growth of the region

Existing and future workload will consist of planned and responsive maintenance/repairs, new build housing and renewables.

You could be based in West Yorkshire, Tyne and Wear or somewhere which is commutable to both and you will, ideally, have experience at a similar level, or be ready to take the next step on the career ladder.

Key elements of the role:

Responsibility, ownership and accountability for the successful management and control all aspects of the commercial / financial and contractual elements of projects under your commercial control.
Provide accurate and pre-investigated reportage of cost versus value at a company and project level.
Manage the commercial team.
Implement company commercial procedures and disciplines on all projects and ensure risk and opportunity is identified and managed.
Personally manage any major contentious project issues.
Work with clients, other teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure excellent and profitable project delivery and delighted clients.
Positively manage cash and cash flow.
Commercial input into tenders and bids.
Build the business as a member of the senior management team.

Required expertise:

Previous experience in a commercial leadership role with demonstrable success.
A background and contacts within social housing, repairs/maintenance or renewables.
Leader with a team working ethos and excellent communication/negotiation skills.
Relevant degree qualification and membership of a professional institute preferred.
