About the Role:
This is our supported living service in Clacton where we will be supporting one individual with specialist behavioural support needs, learning disabilities, autism and behaviours that challenge on a 2:1 basis.
Whilst no two days are the same typically, you’ll help the people we support to establish a routine in their new home, helping them with everyday challenges such as personal care, meal preparation, housekeeping, medication, attending health appointments, maintaining relationships and taking part in hobbies & activities. Crucially, enabling them to carry out tasks, chores and hobbies that most people take for granted but are meaningful to the people we support.
Due to the needs of the individual you will be supporting you will have previous experience in supporting people with autism and challenging behaviour. Also, desirable, but not essential is awareness of mental health and understanding of how to positively support people who may have had difficult experiences in their life.
We are able to offer shifts typically being 7-2.30pm, 2.30pm -10pm and 10pm-7am
Although this role is predominantly based in 1 service in Clacton it will also involve an extensive, specialist behaviour support training programme, full induction into the service and the company and occasional work at our other supported living settings in Clacton area so you must be happy to travel to other local services.
COVID19 safety is important to us all, we support our staff and the people we support to stay safe by wearing correct PPE, including Type IIR Fluid Resistant Surgical Masks (FRSM), aprons and gloves at all times. We have a in-house team that ensures that all of our services have plenty of PPE at all times. All care and support is carried out following the latest Government guidance. Our aim is to keep you and the people we support safe.
