Children’s Support Worker (Residential)

Our client is an independently owned and successful organsiation. They seek to provide a stable, secure and supportive environment, in which the people they care for can develop the skills and confidence necessary to help them fulfil their potential.

They are currently looking for Residential Support Workers for their service. The service is a Ofsted registered children’s home for children aged 11- 17 yrs, offering 52-week care and education.

The Ideal Candidate will have:
Experience with young people either paid or voluntary
Working knowledge of childcare and child development developed through working directly with young people
Experience of working with young people in a residential care setting
Experience of working with young people with emotional & behavioural difficulties
An understanding of current childcare legislation
An understanding of the principles of the Five Outcomes
An awareness of group dynamics
An understanding of the social, emotional, educational, cultural, religious and recreational needs of young people

Qualifications:
NVQ in Care (preferably children and young people) or equivalent
A full UK driving licence is essential.
