Maintaining independence and choice is vitally important for the well-being of our residents. Our team of dedicated Hospitality Support Workers work alongside our Support Workers, Housekeepers and Catering Assistants in ensuring residents maintain their choice and in promoting comfortable, safe and happy home environments.
The role is based within the kitchen units of each of our purpose-built bungalows for older people with dementia. Hospitality Support Workers prepare meals and drinks for residents and their visitors. They maintain the homely environment by ensuring there are magazines and books put out, playing CDs, watering plants, laying tables etc. They assist in housework, help at meal-times and keep the kitchen clean and well stocked.
What we’re looking for:
It goes without saying that this role is suited to a people’s person. Suitable applicants will be gentle, calm and patient and will be able to build good relationships with teams, residents and their families/friends. You’ll be organised and able to adapt your style to meet the needs of the situation – especially important in a changing and sometimes challenging environment. An understanding of Health and Safety and Food Hygiene legislation is essential. A working knowledge of nutrition is also desirable.
You’ll be caring and practical; while it’s not essential to have worked within a care home, you’ll understand the needs of older people and people with dementia.
What we offer:
We offer a competitive package including a contributory pension scheme, life assurance at 4 x salary, childcare vouchers, 23 days holiday per year plus bank holidays (pro-rata), free on-site parking, savings on shopping, opportunity to join our gym (and pool where relevant) and a subsidised restaurant. We also provide an extensive induction programme and training opportunities.
If this sounds like the role for you, we’d love to hear from you.
