Job Title – Operations Manager, Contract Cleaning

Location –Central Londonoffice, with clients throughout the M25 area and Home Counties

The Company

This is a newly incorporated company that has inherited a solid and existing client base of retail and commercial clients throughout the South East. The core client base consists of 35 companies, with a collective turnover of around £700k pa, and individual contract values up to £50k. Although small and in the early stages, this is a company with bright prospects for the future and an excellent strategy for growth – as such, this role is absolutely integral to that strategy and will play a key part in the company’s future development.

The Role

Without a doubt, this role will be a challenge – systems and processes are in place, but this role will be multi-faceted, including visiting clients, auditing sites, managing and recruiting cleaning staff and supervisors, and quoting for new works. You will be working in partnership with the Managing Director, and will work together to ensure not only an excellent quality service to their current clients, but also to develop and sell to new prospects.

The right candidate will:

* Have extensive experience at management level within the contract cleaning industry
* Be able to effectively manage and rota cleaners and supervisors across a wide geographical area
* Have excellent client management and development skills
* Have experience quoting for cleaning contracts of anything from £10k – £200k in value, including DOC and specialist cleaning
* Have experience selecting, negotiating and managing a range of specialist subcontractors
* Have experience managing staff payroll and subcontractor invoicing
* Have excellent communication skills and the ability to build good working relationships

It is also important that you can work harmoniously in a small team and be able to see the bigger picture – at the moment, the company is based in a shared office and the opportunity is to work flexibly from the office or from home, and there may need to be a bit of ‘trench spirit’ during the early days – you will need to put in some early morning visits, deliver equipment to sites and may even be required to get out a mop and bucket in emergencies! However, the future plans include hiring support staff and moving into a dedicated office space, and with fantastic opportunities for growth in marketplace, there is also the possibility of gaining equity in the business.

Salary is £48,000 + statutory holidays, rising by one day for each year of service, plus travel expenses for client visits and a discretionary bonus scheme depending on profit.
