Significant growth across the business has created a Shift Manager vacancy within our industry-leading, award-winning, business-to-business company.
This role of Shift Manager is essential for maintaining the smooth operation of a fast-moving and large warehouse (up to 125,000 square feet).
Responsible for, day-to-day management of people within the warehouse function, ensuring targets, objectives and customer requirements are met.

Key aspects of the Shift Manager role are:
* Leading between 16-40 warehouse colleagues (dependent upon work demand and season). This includes a mixture of full-time (FTE), interim and agency colleagues (AE)
* Support and leadership for warehouse supervisors
* Creating and maintaining a high level of engagement within the team
* Coaching and mentoring colleagues at different levels including quarterly 121s, performance management and updating of KPIs and skills matrix
* Manage headcount effectively to deliver requirements (adhering to lean principles)
* Adherence to HRM procedure including managing overtime, sickness, and absence, shift management, timekeeping, policy adherence etc.
* Frequent usage of mechanical handling equipment (forklifts, pump trucks etc.)
* Ensuring deliveries are received on time and in full
* Maintaining storage by organising floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements etc.
* Maintaining inventory by conducting monthly physical counts, working with different departments
* Securing warehouse by turning alarms, testing systems, and ensuring H&S adherence
* Keep equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, requiring preventive maintenance, calling repairs etc.

* Adaptable and flexible
* Computer literate- knowledge of Microsoft Systems essential
* Knowledge of Health and Safety principles
* Full driving license
* FLT License (desirable)

The role of Shift Manager is physically demanding often requiring a hands-on approach.
Location: Glossop, Derbyshire

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm, flexibility required)
