Salary: £48,000 – £54,000 per year

Job Summary
Our client based in Guildford are seeking an Estimator to join their busy team, to receive drawings, images and specifications from prospects and prepare detailed priced Work Estimate Summaries (quotations) to send by return and attend sites for meetings as necessary.
Job Description
* Develop a costing system based on basic data and build up detailed tables of data to use as part of system
* Use historic information from previous priced jobs both successful and not for comparison purposes
* Value labour element of potential projects and material element of potential projects
* Engage with prospects face to face and via telephone & email to glean vital information, location, scale, access, and timings of projects
* Quotations, job costing and pricing
* Test and measure – follow up Works Estimate Summary within 2 weeks of quoting
* Process information from accounts and production team to cost completed projects and compare to quotation – use this information for future reference
* Attend site meetings and design meetings with Clients
* Liaise closely with Designers on design and finishing matters and pass on cost implications of variations to Clients for approval / agreement
* Work to agreed deadlines to turn around details to Clients
* Seek to maximise profitability of jobs by closely monitoring costs
* Seek clarity on company commitments from Production team to ensure that we do not over commit to projects that we cannot achieve in the timeframe given
