Estimator

Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 per year

This position would appeal to candidates wishing to develop their commercial skills within the construction industry with an established company that can offer training and career advancement.

TRAINING SHALL BE PROVIDED WHERE REQUIRED

The role

Working within the Sales Team your principal duties would include:

* Checking incoming project files to ensure all necessary information from the client has been submitted

* Preparation of estimates by carrying out “take offs” from technical drawings and any other related documentation in line with company schedule of rates and pricing ranges

* Liaison with sales manager and design team to ensure quotes are correct and to client specification

* Submission of quotes to clients

* Amendments to quotations due to variations to specification and client requirements

Candidate requirements:

* Ideally possess qualifications related to the construction sector including: Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction and Built Environment, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, Engineering or Architecture.

* Previous experience within Estimating, Quantity Surveying, Applications Engineering or Sales Engineering, etc

* Ability to read a technical drawing

* Good IT skills, with knowledge in the use of AutoCAD being advantageous but not essential

* Methodical with excellent numerical skills and a good eye for detail
