Caretaker

Our client, one of the UK’s biggest housing associations, is currently looking for a non residential caretaker to join their Resident Services Team.

This role forms part of the Resident Services structure and is a key function of our clients continuing commitment to providing a responsive customer based service for their residents. You will be involved in maintaining communal areas within the blocks and on the estates, carrying out communal cleaning, grounds maintenance work, carrying out small maintenance repairs as well as and having due regard to health & safety and security issues.

You should be capable of carrying out a variety of small repair jobs and working effectively as part of a team and under your own initiative. Trade, Gardening or Locksmith experience would be an advantage although not essential.

You must be a good communicator and be willing to learn new skills as the service adapts to the changing needs within the Neighbourhood. You will often be working alone and therefore need to be able to work on your own initiative and be self motivated to organise your own time effectively. You will need to be proactive in your daily activities and aware of safe working practices.

It is an essential requirement that you have a good standard of writing, numeracy and IT skills as you will be required to use a PC at times. The successful candidate will hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle as you may be required to work across different estates and schemes within the neighbourhood as and when required.

During the course of your training it will be compulsory that you undertake City & Guilds Level 1 Certificate in Practical Cleaning Skills.
