Study Programme Tutor

Reporting to the Study Programme Coordinator, the role of the Tutor will be to deliver innovative teaching and learning sessions and manage a case load of students.

Other duties include:
•To support and contribute to the centre starts strategy
•To participate in any Study Programme promotional events e.g. Careers Conventions, parents’ evenings, job fairs, open days, etc.
•Initial assessments of applicants/students and carry out inductions
•To diagnose all students to identify gaps in their English and maths via Guroo and further diagnostic materials
•To deliver innovative teaching and learning sessions, always aiming to achieve outstanding practise
•To continuously develop the session plans and scheme of work, keeping abreast of local influences, current affairs and progression routes for the students
•To monitor students ensuring continued progression towards completion of their learning aims are on target as per learning agreement. Where students are falling behind scheduled extra support must be made available
•To ensure your caseload are retained in learning for their learning aims and minimise the number of early leavers
•To, in liaison with the student, record progress towards previously agreed targets and agree future learning and assessment arrangements
•To ensure all documentation is completed accurately and legibly

Applicants should have a broad working knowledge of the sector, good maths and English skills and hold a teaching qualification
