Import / Export Assistant

A professional shipping and logistics firm in Rainham, Essex is looking for an experienced Freight Forwarder to join them on a permanent basis, dealing with overseas agents, shipping lines, subcontractors and most importantly customers.

The company is offering an excellent salary. The successful candidate will have customer service as well as sea freight import/Export experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
-All import FCL, LCL, sea freight shipments.
-Working under their own initiative but also taking direction when required.
-Being proactive with clients and dealing with questions in a responsive and timely manner.
-Taking bookings from UK and overseas clients and coordinating this within the logistics team.
-Performing customs entries on behalf of clients and inputting data into in the company’s in house computer system called ” Fast Freight ” and distributing all relevant information / documentation
-Booking clients deliveries with shipping lines or merchant hauliers.
-Performing daily invoicing.
-Dealing with correspondence from overseas agents & clients.
-Knowledge of Customs Entries, Bills of Lading, all other shipping instructions and freight documentation.
-Issuing Notice of Arrivals.
-Checking/Release of shipments against presentation of HBL.
-Arranging releases.

Essential Requirements are:
-Import Sea Freight experience
-Knowledge of exports would be an advantage
-Must be able to work as a team
-Good IT skills

The ideal candidate will have previously worked within Freight Forwarding industry and dealt with sea freight.
Salary 19K-20K Per annum
