An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Support Engineer based in Ascot, Berkshire to join an expanding technology organisation.
As a Technical Support Engineer your duties will be:
Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults at a Tier 3 level.
Understand and fix network issues at a detailed low level using a strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking technologies, protocols and design principles.
Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports so that they can be published as solutions for a customer portal.
Supporting the release of new applications.
Responding within agreed SLAs to support calls.
Testing and evaluating new company products from a support perspective.
Technical training of customers/partners who wish to use our products.
Install and configure all company products, including hardware and software applications.
An ideal Technical Support Engineer will hold the following skills and experiences:
Extensive experience in technical support, previous experience in TCP/IP networking technologies, protocols and design principles is essential.
Detailed knowledge of both Windows and Linux OS environments.
Able to use SQL to look at Database.
Working knowledge of.net technology, however this is not a development role. Also helpful to know C, C++, Python and Bash Scripting language.
Knowledge of retail stores or epos systems from a support and deployment perspective an advantage but not essential.
Knowledge of producing and adding content to a customer portal so that customers/partners can self serve.
In return you will receive a salary of £36,000 – £48,000 per annum plus Health Insurance and Pension Scheme.
