Job Type: 12 month fixed term contract
Salary: £36,000 – £48,000+ overtime + benefits

Honda of the UK Manufacturing, the cutting edge automotive manufacturing company who are global leaders in their field, are currently looking for a dynamic and positive Quality Engineer, initially on a 12 months fixed term contract with a view to become a permanent staff after this time, to join the team in a particularly interesting and important area of the company.

Honda of the UK Manufacturing are now the global hub for all Honda Civic production making this a particularly exciting time to join the company.

Responsibilities

– Ensure that parts and processes are developed to the highest standard at the pre-production phase so that quality and capacity requirements can be achieved during mass production
– The successful candidates must have a positive, and dynamic “can-do” attitude with lots of energy and enthusiasm for resolving problems with external suppliers to ensure parts are delivered on time at the required quality
– Project manage supplier parts and processes from concept to mass production and ensure that the supplier process has a suitable method of control and that this is recorded in the quality documentation
– Confirm parts quality and capacity to ensure HUM volume requirements are met
– Ability to travel and potential to be located at local suppliers within the UK and Europe

Skills & experience

– Very strong problem solving skills
– Product & Process auditing
– Understanding of capacity planning & calculation
– Previous experience of Automotive manufacturing disciplines including injection moulding and body in white, would also be beneficial.
– Appreciation of parts manufacturing processes
– Understand parts drawings and review design changes and communicate requirements to the supplier
– Use hand held measuring tools and understand the analysis of other equipment
– Ability to critique supplier & parts development plans & project manage the development process
– Achieve deadlines
– Negotiation skills and good communication at all levels (Int & Ext)
– Valid driving license & passport with the ability to travel worldwide
– F&J Course qualifications / experience is desirable
– Minimum of HNC in manufacturing or engineering related disciplines would be desirable
