Electrical Mechanical Sales Engineer

My client is a fast growing, dynamic; employee owned business. Established in 2001, my client has grown to be one of the largest packaging distributors in the UK.
We are looking to recruit an Electrical Mechanical Sales Engineer to join their experienced machine division.

The role

The role will be covering the Birmingham, Leicester, Derby, Nottingham, Sheffield and Liverpool area. A company car is provided.

This role would suit someone in the beginning stages of their career, perhaps you are a technician wanting to move into the world of sales or a graduate with a couple of year’s commercial experience.

This is an exciting role maintaining & developing existing & new customers, following up sales enquiries/leads, site surveys etc.

Duties will include:

• Searching for new clients who could benefit from your products in a designated region
• Travelling to visit potential clients
• Establishing new, and maintaining existing, relationships with customers
• Managing and interpreting customer requirements
• Calculating client quotations
• Negotiating tender and contract terms
• Negotiating and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions
• Offering after-sales support services
• Administering client accounts
• Analysing costs and sales
• Preparing reports for head office
• Meeting regular sales targets
• Recording and maintaining client contact data
• Supporting marketing by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events
• Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs
• Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education
• Liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts
• Solving client problems

Experience/Skills required

• HND/Degree in Electrical Mechanical engineering
• A solid technical background
• Sound judgement and good business sense
• Teamworking ability
• The ability to build relationships with clients quickly
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Resilience and tenacity
• A full driving licence
