Senior R&D Project Engineer

This roles is for a Senior R&D Project Engineer to head up the development of a new product line within an extremely exciting Medical Device company that has seen huge amounts of growth over the past 2 years.

About the role:

* Leads a cross-functional and multinational team, coordinates and tracks product development activities of R&D/Product Development teams, including integration of QE/QA, RA, ME, Operations and Marketing.
* Coordinate with team members, internal and external suppliers and outside professionals to ensure project outputs meet user’s needs as well as applicable regulatory requirements
* Creates, tracks and meets project schedule
* Generates project budget and tracks project costs
* Directs the technical development activities of the project team to meet project goals and milestones.
* Leads investigations of design / process issues as necessary on both products under development and existing products.
* Performs supervisory responsibilities for direct reports
* Identifies development need and potential for employees, and provides or recommends project assignments and training to increase expertise to meet current or future division needs
* Provide technical support and feedback to direct reports
* Actively participates in training and providing input to training of employees on division procedures and policies
* Provide input, feedback and maintenance for department and division procedures and policies
* Assesses priorities and makes assignments to direct reports to ensure project and company priorities are met
* Responsible for the generation and compilation of the design history files in compliance with our current design control procedures, FDA quality system regulations and DIN EN ISO 13485:2003
* Ensures a positive work environment and awareness of company goals and objectives with direct reports and team members
* Facilitates problem solving and collaboration between team members
* Complies with company procedures and policies, government regulations
* Shall support the R&D Manager in the identification of new technologies, new materials, components and equipment as required to develop capabilities of the R&D group.

Requirements:

* Minimum of Bachelor Degree in science or engineering and minimum of five years of relevant experience.
