Software Design Engineer

Our client, a leading manufacturing company based in Rotherham, is now looking to recruit a Software Design Engineer to join their team.

� Design, as part of a team, according to company procedures the electronic content of mechatronic products that meet specified customer and internal requirements and are profitable.
� Design, as part of a team, according to company procedures embedded software that satisfies specified requirements.
� Produce design project documentation that is thorough and accurate and gains the approval of the Principal Design Engineer or Electronics R&D Manager.
� Verify designs with care and thoroughness so that all failures to meet requirements are discovered.
� Validate products with care and thoroughness so that all failures to meet requirements are discovered.
� Make design changes that are evaluated for feasibility, cost and timing; and implemented with care and thoroughness, gaining the approval of the Principal Design Engineer or Electronics R&D Manager.
� Participate in cost reduction activities (VA/VE) relating to product design so that product profitability is maximised.
� Contribute effectively to team working within the Company and with customers.
� Give timely, effective support to the customer�s needs so that the customer does not express dissatisfaction.
� Provide technical support to Sales and Marketing to obtain new business.
� Ensure full commitment and support for training, succession planning, recruitment, communications, health and safety, environmental considerations, housekeeping and personal discipline.
