Salary: £42,000 – £78,000 per year

Software Test Engineer

Our client is a leading developer of security solution used by Militaries globally and in critical national infrastructure. They are looking for a Software Test Engineer to join their team to build and test software.

Due to the nature of their business you will be required to undergo security clearance.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for building manual and automated system/software level tests
Responsible for producing Test Plans, Test Procedures and Test Reports
Perform all levels of test activities on the system/software
Estimate time and effort required for systems test activities
Proposes improvements in tools, processes and techniques
Help to improve the testability of software.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Good Degree with Software Content or equivalent

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE:

1 years practical experience of using C++
Experience and a good understanding of Systems/Software Test Engineering
Experience of writing test plans / test specifications
Experience of building software & software installers desirable
Experience in a similar position within a Technical/Engineering organisation preferred
Practical experience of using Microsoft Visual Studio
