A Production Team Leader is required for an established hamper business to oversee packing, production and dispatch of hampers for telephone, on-line and retail orders. The Team Leader will be responsible for the daily scheduling of packing and dispatch of orders plus stock control. Sales are heavily skewed to the Christmas quarter. All members of the hamper team must be prepared to work extended hours over this period which will include evenings and weekends.

The Production Team Leader would be required to manage a small production team of established and seasonal staff and to be ‘hands on’. The Team Leader would be a competent time manager and thoroughly enjoy working meticulously to ensure all orders are despatched on time even in extremely busy seasonal periods. Full system training will be given to the suitable candidate. This is an exciting time for the business with the launch of a new website and further opportunities may emerge over the course of the contract period.
Responsibilities:
Lead a team with a ‘hands-on’ and supportive management style
Interrogate computerised production and orders-in schedules to determine daily and term workload
Set daily and term priorities and schedules
Organise production staffing rotas
Oversee presentation and quality control requirements of packed hampers
Manage the courier data base and organise courier collections
Monitor and maintain stock levels to fulfil orders and meet sales targets
Part responsibility for stock purchasing (including budget control)
Liaise with suppliers to co-ordinate receipt of stock into the warehouse
Ensure all warehouse stock movements are accurately managed on the computerised stock control system
