Salary from £42,000 – £45,600with company benefits

The company is a family run business who has been established for over 60 years. They have recently gone through some exciting changes within the business which has lead to a number of new vacancies being created. The first is for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join the team.

Overview:
Reporting to the Managing Director, take responsibility for the purchasing and production planning functions of the Business to help realise the Corporate Objective to become the ‘lowest cost producer amongst our competition’ and support the Mission to ‘deliver the highest levels of customer service’.
Responsibilities:
*Ensure strong relationships are developed with customers allowing access to the best forecasting information possible – this in conjunction with the efforts of the account managers
*Help develop a business culture that recognises good forecasting as critical in maintaining high standards of customer service whilst controlling stock levels
*Disseminate forecast information quickly and clearly to suppliers and internal customers
*Take full responsibility for managing the stock levels of the Business
*Maintain accurate costing information on the Access Supply Chain system, therefore supporting accurate management reporting
*Plan production to ensure spare capacity is available to react to spikes in demand outside of the forecasted requirements of the month
*Ensure suppliers receive commitment in the form of Purchase Orders for months 1 & 2 if lead times require – month 1 only where short lead times are available.
*Proactively seek out the best suppliers to provide the service, quality and price required to meet the Company’s objectives
*Establish Supply Agreements and SLA’s with suppliers to secure the best trading terms and performance possible in liaison with the Company’s Financial Controller
*Work with the Financial Controller to monitor the financial stability of suppliers and minimise risk of supply disruption during peak trading periods
*Manage the Warehousing and Transport Manager and Supply Chain Coordinator

Requirements:
*Over 3 years experience in supply chain management
*Ideally experienced in FMCG but other industry background considered.
*Hold relevant qualifications in Purchasing
*Excellent forecasting skills
*Have experience in establishing supplier agreements/SLA’s
*Cost reduction and supplier reviews
*Production Planning experience
*Existing supply chain development and seeking new suppliers to secure the best quality products and prices
*Solid computer skills
