Salary: £54,000 per year

Quantity Surveyor – Barking & Dagenham, Essex – Decent Home Scheme

My client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their in-house delievery of a major works decent homes scheme on a permenant basis. Due to Covid-19 my client has a large pipeline of decent home upgrades to be completed and will provide the successful applicant with long term stable employement throughout the borough.

As the Quantity Surveyor you will be part of a team providing professional advice on a range of building projects including repair, refurbishment and adaptations across multiple contracts and clients. You will work collaboratively with specialist sub-contractors as well as the Design, Planning, and Construction teams to achieve commercial budgets.

Duties Include:

* Assist in the development of programmes for the delivery of services

* Preparation of estimates and cost plans in line with the brief

* Provision of financial advice including the impact of inflation

* Preparation of standard documentation – reports, valuations, letters, financial statement

* Preparation of tender and contract documents and participating in contract reviews relating to the contract with the customer

* Prepare valuations and financial statements; re-measure as necessary and adjust variations

* Assist in the settlement of construction disputes and prepare and agree final accounts

* Attend appropriate design team and progress meetings as and when required

* Assist in management of subcontract payment notices in accordance with statutory and company requirements.

* Monitoring the progress of sub-contractors, cost forecasting and maintaining a good working relationship with all stakeholders.

* Carry out monthly valuations of work in progress, including forecasting of final costs and sales.

* Prepare and monitor project cash flow forecasts.

* Measure, value, submit and negotiate contract variations.

Salary & Package:

* £54,000.00 Per Annum

* 20% Performance Bonus

* 25 Days Annual Leave

* Expenses for travel and fuel

* 5% Pension
