As a key member of one of the development teams, you’ll build on your knowledge and experience of all aspects of software development within an iterative, agile and customer-focused methodology. The work is interesting and varied; teams work both across greenfield development projects and to maintain and improve existing software applications.

This important role will give you the scope to learn and grow professionally: you will enhance your technical skills and expertise in interpreting client requirements, build business domain knowledge and be a mentor for less experienced developers.

Working with a high degree of autonomy, you will be responsible for the functionality that you develop. You’ll ensure that it delivers on the user and business needs, and that it’s maintainable and robust. You will write both functional code and automated tests to ensure compliance with development standards.

This role will suit an adaptable, practical developer looking to take the next step in their career.

What will enable you to succeed in this role:

  • Commercial experience of the development of digital services using a Java framework, such as spring boot
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript
  • Knowledge of databases and SQL, ideally Oracle
  • Knowledge of web services including RESTful and SOAP services
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn other technologies
  • Relevant Computer Sciences or Technical Degree.
  • Strong interpersonal/team skills.
  • Must be able to cultivate an adaptable positive attitude to problem solving
  • Will be highly motivated and demonstrate an excellent mix of analytical and technical skills.
  • Will be able to demonstrate a clear and concise communication style.
