Accounts Assistant / Trainee – Chartered Accountants

The Firm:
My client is an expanding firm of Chartered Accountants and Business and Tax Advisors, who are currently seeking a new Accounts Trainee to join the firm. They are a friendly, young firm with 11 staff at present (3 Partners), who all work very well together as a team. The accounts staff all joined as school leavers and have trained and grown within the firm. The firm started about 12 years ago and has gradually developed to where it is now, there is likely to be a few significant changes over the next few years or so with retirements which will allow the chosen candidate to push themselves as far as they wish to go.

The Role:
This will consist of accounts prep for sole traders, partnerships and companies and the associated tax comps and returns. There will also be an element of bookkeeping and VAT returns for a small number of clients and various statutory/company secretarial work. Your responsibilities will grow and develop as knowledge and experience is gained, and they would expect the chosen candidate to assist in audit work within a relatively short timeframe.

The Candidate:
You must have circa 12- 24 months current experience within a firm of accountants and be interested in growing your practice career with good hands on training and exposure to accounts, audit and tax. This role offers great progression opportunities for your career. Experience of accounting software such as Sage and Iris would be beneficial.

The Benefits:
Along with the practical training, a full ACCA study package will be provided. This consists of an introductory and revision course for each paper, together with home study, time off is provided for the courses and exam and they pay for the full package for the first attempt at each paper.
