CNC Setter Operator

Salary: £14.4 – £15.6 per hour

Our client requires a temporary CNC machinist who can machine components to the highest quality, without any defects and in the required time.

To set and operate either a Hass Machining Centre to manufacture components to drawing specifications. To set-up a machine in the require time stated and run the machine to the quantity required.

Ensure at all times that machining programs are correctly titled and saved onto the database and that all relevant information is included for future reference.

Ensure materials for components are available and sawn up ready in time for the next planned job.

To contribute to any Prototype development.

Be a contributing member of the machine shop Team.

Set and maintain high standards with regard to Quality.

To carry out any other duties when requested within the department.

Contribute to both Lean activities and initiatives.

Ensure all Health and Safety procedures are followed and highlight any risks to either yourself or others, no matter how trivial.

Contribute to any Quality improvements.

Ensure 5s methodology is used constantly.

To ensure that all parts, products and services are at the level of quality that is expected and that all ISO 9001:2008 procedures are followed. Ensuring satisfactory measurement equipment is used and that the quality is maintained to drawing specification, they should be used / checked on a daily basis

Attempt to reduce the planned machine times by 10% year on year; this can be achieved by working more effectively, using lean techniques, and suggesting better methods for machining.

Endeavour to generate ideas for continuous improvements, these can include improvements in work flow, processes, calibration etc. Look for ways to make the job faster, easier and better.

Hours of work are Mon – Friday 6.15am – 2.15pm and Friday 1.00pm finish

Pay rate is 13.27 p.hr with possible overtime.
