Building Maintenance

Civil work / general building skills
Woodworking / carpentry
Mechanical aptitude
Plumbing experience

Typical Duties

– To undertake maintenance duties as required to the building fabric inside & out, making sure all paperwork / documents are accurately completed within specific timescales
– To provide a flexible approach to working practices within the dedicated facilities team which involve general maintenance duties & undertaking a range of minor repairs, for example:
– Fabric repairs to internal / external walls, floors (tiling / brick sets / tarmac), joinery (door locks, rehanging, furniture repairs) painting, minor civil works (brick / paving stone laying, working with concrete)
– Mechanical repairs – plumbing / tap repairs – leaks, drain blockages, L8 water checks, meter reading
– Other works as commensurate with the grade, personal abilities & experience
– Maintain service records, complete service reports as appropriate, produce accurate documentation as required and to keep up-to-date records of statutory inspections.
– Be available for out of hours / weekend working depending upon production / business requirements
– Undertake minor quoted works from initial outset, through installation to completion as required whilst completing all required documentation
– Assist other members of the maintenance team in carrying out maintenance, repairs, testing, inspection & installation work
– Liaising with suppliers and 3rd party contractors to ensure the efficient running of the site
