Salary: £42,000 per year
We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to work for a manufacturer in Swindon.
The hours are Monday to Thursday 7.30am – 4.30pm and Friday 7.30am – 12.45pm. The salary is £42,000, benefits include a pension scheme 25 days annual holiday plus statutory.
Summary:
Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will have personal responsibility and accountability for managing the day-to-day activities of the two shift quality auditors. Furthermore, you will lead, support, and implement all quality and continuous improvement related activities to improve the manufacturing and assembly processes quality in striving to achieve zero defects leaving the facility.
Main Duties:
1. Lead effective root cause analysis on customer rejects to prevent reoccurring defects by ensuring that effective corrective actions are logged, tracked, and implemented via the internal corrective action system.
2. Working with the quality auditors, lead and implement a robust audit process for each assembly line to ensure continued performance of each process to the defined settings and standards to achieve the required quality standard for all products produced.
3. Manage non-conforming materials liaising with production, supply chain management and suppliers. Where required identify improvements to prevent reoccurrences.
4. Work collaboratively with the Manufacturing and production Engineering to create visual set up and standard operating practices that instruct operators how to install, set items of plant, equipment and tooling provided.
5. Assume the role of main contact for quality related issues coordinating any reworks, RGR analysis and improvement activities with the relevant functions.
6. Support the engineering team in developing robust PFMEAs for each assembly to ensure continual improvement of quality to support the goal of zero defects leaving the facility.
