Production Engineering Manager – Electronics

We are currently recruiting an experienced Production Engineering Manager to join a large UK Electronics Manufacturer within easy commute of South Essex, North Kent and South East London areas. The successful applicant will be joining a company in positive growth.

Key accountabilities
• Provide and implement costed improvement projects
• Develop solutions to process issues created by new products supporting NPI
• Expand the facilities to meet growth demands
• Organise and manage all building, electrical, mechanical & engineering works
• Design, utilise and manage an effective maintenance programme to guarantee maximum machine performance
• To rectify machine breakdowns and keep a working log in line with ISO processes
• Create and manage a spare parts inventory and associated stocks
• Manage product manufacturing costings
• Design and implementation of quick change over programme
• Lead production management in line balancing activity to maximise productivity
• Responsible also for planning and building maintenance schedules and improvements
• Manage the training of engineering staff.

Experience required
• Electrical/Electronics manufacturing background is a must
• Extensive proven experience of running automated assembly lines (SMT) and/or test equipment in an Engineering position.
• Knowledge of SMT equipment such as AOI, wave solder, pick & place etc.
• Proven experience in manufacturing management leading teams of technicians and engineers.
• Experienced in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvements
