Financial Controller

Financial Controller.
Our client, a successful manufacturing business supplying a prestigious customer base in the retail sector, seeks a Financial Controller to head up all accounting and Financial matters. This is a highly commercial role working for a business undergoing a period of exciting growth. The position has arisen due to the impending retirement of the present incumbent.

* As a Financial Controller you’ll work with the shareholders, heading up the day to day financial activities including; preparation of month end accounts, VAT returns, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments, audits and year end Statutory accounts.

* The Financial Controller will be responsible for setting and checking targets and monitoring the performance of each department within the business is in line with their set budgets.

* The Financial Controller role will implement and maintain all financial controls and systems within the business, identifying and recommending potential operational efficiencies and improvements to working practices and procedures. This would include finance, business, IT and HR.

PRINCIPAL JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

* Management of the finance function and overseeing the finance team.
* Oversee all tax and regulatory compliance issues.
* Liaise with external advisors on the preparation of statutory financial information.
* Manage insurances.
* Preparation of cashflow statements if required.
* Prepare and submit information to statutory authorities including HMRC.
* Prepare monthly management accounts, P&L and balance sheet.
* Preparation of payroll figures.
* Preparation of VAT returns.
* Control and reconciliation of the companies’ bank accounts.
* Supporting role to sales and production directors
* Provide the human resources function to the rest of the company.
* Overall control of the IT system.
* Negotiation of settlement terms with creditors and debtors.
* Debt collection.

Education / Qualifications:CIMA, ACA, ACCA, AAT

Skills and Previous Experience:

Computer literate to a good standard in usage of; Access / PowerPoint / Excel / Word.
