About the company:
Ripe4 is proud to be partnering with a metal processing company in their search for a hands-on Operations Manager, as they establish their first plant in the UK to be based in Cambridgeshire.
About the Operations Manager position:
As one of the first employees within this new site, you will be responsible for the following:
• Definition and optimisation of CNC machining functions
• Improving the production process to optimise speed, quality and cost
• Recruitment of shop-floor staff and management
• Training of staff in the application of lean/continuous improvement tools including SMED and TPM
• Ensuring compliance with a range of corporate and quality standards (including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001)
About you:
• Hands-on and up to date experience in CNC machining techniques
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a management position within a high-volume engineering environment (preferably working with metal)
• Proven ability to recruit, motivate and develop staff
• Previous experience in a start-up manufacturing organisation/setting up a new production facility would be ideal
• Willing to travel to the European headquarters on occasion
