Vacancy Description
A Traineeship is an education and training programme with work experience that is focused on giving young people the skills and experience that employers are looking for. At its core are work preparation training, English and maths for those who need it, and a high quality work experience placement.

Traineeships help unlock your great potential and give you the work preparation training, maths and English and work experience needed to get an Apprenticeship or other job.
This Traineeship Opportunity is unwaged, but you will receive £26,000 per year travel expenses.
Eligibility

To enrol on the Traineeship programme you need to be:
• Unemployed and have little or no work experience
• Keen to improve your skills and find work
• Either:

Aged 16-24 and hold qualifications below the equivalent of a level 3 apprenticeship qualification
If you’re not sure whether you’re eligible or not, or not sure whether a Traineeship is for you, get in touch and we’ll guide you through it.
Traineeships are a brilliant new way to help you build your skills, gain invaluable work experience and – if you’re successful – access Apprenticeship and other job opportunities with a number of employers.

Traineeships consist of three elements:

• Training: five weeks of full time training to help you improve your skills and prepare for work. During those five weeks you build the skills you need to find and stay in work – including support to improve your reading, writing and maths if you need it. You’ll also learn how to make a great first impression and give your best in job interviews.

• Work experience: up to six weeks work experience with employer. When you join our Traineeship programme we’ll match you to the work experience placement we think will best work for you. During your placement you will get to watch others in action and do real work yourself. At the end of your work placement you’ll have an interview with your host employer.

• Apprenticeship & other job opportunities: the opportunity to progress from your Traineeship into an Apprenticeship. All of the businesses who provide work experience placements are open to offering you an Apprenticeship or other job in their business.
Throughout your Traineeship you will be supported by a dedicated coach who will help you make sure that you make your Traineeship work for you. You’ll also be able to access our huge online library of tools and resources to help you.

Working Week 9am-5pm Monday- Friday 30hrs per week
Number of Vacancies 25
Important Other Information
We will give you an allowance during your training and work placement to help cover your travel and other expenses.
Hours will vary depending on the business hosting your work experience placement. Hours (maximum of 30 hours per week) will be confirmed during your training.
Future Prospects
At the end of your work experience placement you’ll have an interview with your host employer. Following that interview they may offer you an Apprenticeship, another job, or some feedback to help you find opportunities elsewhere. You will also receive a certificate of completion and a letter of reference.
