Bid Manager

Salary: £72,000 – £96,000 per year

Bid Manager / Preconstruction Manager | £60,000 – £80,000 | Hertfordshire | Main Contractor | Permanent

A senior level position within the preconstruction department of one of the most sought after contractors in the UK exists for a highly driven and ambitious Bid Manager.

The Bid Manager will assume responsibility for pre-construction and bid excellent at all levels, leading to reduced risk, improved delivery and margin security. 

Candidates will need to have demonstrable technical experience with a proven background in planning, coordinating and managing at the pre-construction stage. Sound construction knowledge of construction from inception to completion is a pre-requisite, whilst candidates will ideally be from a technical or commercial bias, but others will be considered.

Bid Manager / Pre Construction Manager – some of your responsibilities:

• Accuracy of the full tender submission process
• Review of tender pack and undertake bid recommendations and gap analysis
• Identify appropriate bid resources
• Identify, procure and manage consultants to support bidding activity
• Take ownership for preparing schemes for bid launch, review and settlement

Bid Manager / Pre Construction Manager – qualifications, skills and experience:

• Candidates will ideally be from an engineering, technical, operations or commercial background with a relevant construction related qualification
• Firm understanding of the commercial aspects of bidding including risk assessment
• Understanding of the commercial aspects of bidding including risk management
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic Asta PowerProject knowledge
• Good writing / technical writing experience and proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite
