We are a world renowned and industry leading Hertfordshire based Manufacturer. An opportunity has arisen to appoint a Technical Sales Specialist into our in-house team involved with the application of advanced glass materials and glass products to a diverse range of industries. Applications are invited from candidates with a technical degree qualification (such as engineering, materials science, chemical, or equivalent) who are striving to develop a career that is commercially focused. This role can be surmised as one that is very sales orientated and requires extensive liaison with sales representatives, R&D scientists, and engineers who work with blue chip customers at a technical and senior level. Applicants must have at least one year’s experience of closing sales deals and be motivated to succeed. Candidates who are currently and/or have previously worked within sectors that focus on the application of materials, coatings, glass, metals, ceramics or chemicals are likely to be of particular interest. Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this role. Equally as important is the ability to work well in a team. This role will involve both domestic and overseas travel to visit colleagues and customer sites for meetings, so a clean driving licence is highly desirable. If you have the ability to speak another language, this may be advantageous but not essential. In particular, European languages such as French, German, Spanish or Italian are preferable.
