Mechanical Engineer

Salary: £33,600 – £38,400 per year

Our client specialises in the design and manufacture of very high-quality lighting and furnishing products and have created the new role for a Mechanical Engineer to come in as Engineering Controller for all of the business’s mechanical and engineering aspects of their products.

You will be participating in the development of existing and new products, ensuring product quality and engineering performance.

Key tasks for the role of Engineering Controller:

* Responsibility of engineering and mechanical performance of the product range

* Assessment and management of release process of NPI and sustainment products

* Feedback and collaboration with key suppliers on technical product development matters

* Specification of test requirements and development and execution of prototype testing

* Producing 3D and 2D CAD drawings

* Preparing and presenting information, ideas and data to Internal Customers

Key skills and experience needed for the role of Engineering Controller:

* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in engineering within the consumer product industry

* Fluent with CAD Packages such as SolidWorks / Fusion 360 / Siemens NX

* Knowledge and understanding of materials and manufacturing processes

* Good understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles

* The ability to communicate effectively at all levels

* A solution focused approach to all tasks and challenges

* Commercially aware
