Support Worker

We have vacancies supporting adults at our service in Tiptree (relocating to Braintree soon) for full-time and part-time Support Workers.

About the role

You will play a key part in assisting the people we support to live as independently as possible. You will join in with their favourite pastimes and hobbies, helping them be active members of their local community. Activities might include swimming, walking, listening to music, going to the cinema and theatre, going to church, shopping or out for meals.

Because of the complexity of their learning disabilities, some people require help with intimate care or medication. They can display challenging behaviour and require emotional reassurance and support.

The work can be demanding and doesn’t suit everyone, but if it’s right for you, you’ll find it incredibly rewarding and valuable. We will provide you with full training and the day-to-day support of your colleagues and Head of Service.

This role includes working shifts on a rota, including days, evenings and sleep-ins, the rota covers taking your turn on weekends and public holidays.

What we need from you

Although we welcome people from a social care or related background, experience is not necessary, as we provide an exceptional induction and training programme, including the opportunity to gain nationally accredited vocational qualifications. People join us from many different backgrounds, it’s more important to us that you have the right personal qualities and that you’re willing to listen and to learn.

Salaries are dependent on successful completion of a probation period and relevant qualifications. Part time positions are pro rata, and we Salary: £26,000per sleep-in.
