A Mechanical Design Engineer urgently required for a manufacturer of engine test equipment. You will be responsible for the mechanical design, detail and manufacture of bespoke machinery and equipment for gas turbines, marine and aerospace engines. Your key duties will be:

– Mechanical design and validation using SolidWorks 3D CAD software
– Carry out engineering calculations for all designs including mechanical stress and safety
– Carry out FE Analysis and simulation of designs using SolidWorks simulation software
– Selection of suitable materials and manufacturing processes for all designs
– Produce engineering specifications, build and test procedures and manuals 
– Provide support to Production and Commissioning Departments during build and installation
– Production and issue of all related engineering documentation for manufacture, assembly and installation.

To be considered for this position, you are expected to have experience of working with mechanical design packages, particularly 3D SolidWorks. Experience of working within the power generation, aerospace and automotive industries are ideal if you have machinery automation design skills.
