Electrician’s Mate / Lighting Technician

Job objectives and responsibilities:
• To support the team in ensuring that all lighting is maintained in an efficient and safe manner, with a view to progressively developing within the company.

Main duties:
• To ensure duties are carried out to meet all statutory regulations and in compliance with all safety procedures
• To install non-electrical replacements to lighting
• Report any defects outside of area of responsibility
• To carry out works specified
• To undertake additional duties as instructed by the FLME
• To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time
• To understand and comply with policies and procedures
• To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner
• To comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
• To attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required
• To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required
• To comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
• To attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required
• To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required

Person Specification
• Ability to work at heights
• Flexible attitude
• Able to work as part of a team
• Able to work on own initiative
• Knowledge of Health and Safety and safe working practices
• Some previous experience of lighting maintenance preferred
• Full Driving Licence

Standard hours are 8.00am – 5.00pm but there will be some night shifts and weekend works – nights and overtime paid at 1.3 x standard rate
They should be able to work at heights and follow instructions
Assisting with replacement of lighting, changing lamps, ballasts, fault finding and repairs
Working on a mobile basis around PO post code area.
May or may not be provided with van.

Fixed Term Contract – 4 months
Salary: £26,000
