I am acting on behalf of a small, independent residential child care company who offer bespoke, high quality care and support to young adolescents who are ‘looked after’. They are currently looking for a Senior Residential Care Worker to join their team at their 4 bedded home in East Northamptonshire.

In this fantastic role you will be expected to:

* Ensure and maintain the development of positive childcare practice in keeping with the ethos, aims and objectives of company, by providing a safe, warm and supportive environment for the young people in your care

* Carry out duties in line with company policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.

* Ensure that all children and young people are safeguarded from harm at all times.

* Support, assist and deputise for the Registered Manager as part of a team, ensuring the smooth and effective running of the home

* Deputise for the Registered Manager in professional and administrative duties

For this role you must have:

• NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in Children and Young People

* Previous experience of working in residential child care

* Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal

* The ability to problem solve and use dynamic risk assessments

* Proven leadership skills

* A full manual driving licence

* The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

* The ability to work a rota pattern including evenings, weekends, sleep-ins, bank holidays, Christmas etc
