Support Worker & Housing Officer

Salary: £26,000 per year

I am working with a national leading charity who assists with the housing and support of ex offenders who are leaving the prison services, who are looking to add an experienced Support Worker to their team within the Doncaster area.

The role will involve but will not be limited to the following:

* Providing flexible, holistic and short term support to clients with a wide range of support needs, with the aim of them achieving their own accommodation at the end of the companies assistance program

* Managing a caseload of clients in various properties across your located patch/area

* Carrying out inspections and reporting of repairs promptly to ensure quality homes are provided to our clients

* Offering 1-2-1 support to clients, about benefits, job opportunities and other community based functions they may need support with.

* Undertaking of safeguarding activities such as monitoring and reporting of any concerns

* Liaising with various local authorities and prison services.

* Maximising on rent collections by ensuring clients are submitted and assisted through successful housing and other welfare benefit claims.

To be considered for this role, I am looking for someone who has experience or previous knowledge within support work, housing, working within vulnerable adults, the criminal justice system or safeguarding.

MUST HAVES TO BE CONSIDERED:

* A FULL DRIVING LICENSE AND YOUR OWN VEHICLE

* Must be able to obtain a clear fully enhanced DBS criminal record check

In return this role offers flexible working within the community, working from home, in between and at property visits with clients. You would meet regularly with your other team members and manager to discuss and reflect on complex cases, and you would have 24/7 support should you need it.

The working hours as above are flexible between the hours of 8am – 8pm (40 hours per week) covered on a rota basis, however you would very rarely be expected to do property visits at 8pm, as most offenders are released during core office hours.

In return my client is offering a package of:

starting salary of £26,000 per year(inclusive of a shift allowance for rota)

Mileage: 45p per mile for any business miles travelled (paid monthly)

Holidays: 25 days + Bank holidays
