Business Continuity Architect

Business Continuity Architect – Berkshire; required to join a leading UK Retail business to undertake a key role within the Architecture team. As a Business Continuity Architect you will assist the business in a large scale transition programme and key technology refresh across the business and ensure that the integrity of the overall business continuity architecture is maintained. You will provide awareness of wider developments in security, business continuity and vulnerabilities across the business.

Key Duties;
– Assist with the definition of the business continuity strategy and standards for Divisional IT together with key stakeholders from across the Partnership.
– Provide business continuity expertise for projects to ensure they are in alignment with Partnership and Divisional standards.
– Keep abreast of external developments in business continuity and maintain an awareness of current threats and vulnerabilities, in order to define strategies and tools to counteract these.
– Help identify future technologies and frameworks to support strategy and tools.
– Ensure business continuity standards are built into the Divisional IT strategy.
– Help evaluate all proposed major changes against the overall IT business continuity architecture and highlight impact of all changes on existing infrastructure/ applications.
– Review all changes to ensure defined business continuity architecture standards are adhered to.
– Develop remedial action for non-compliance areas.
– Provide regular information on actions being taken to address vulnerabilities.

Essential Exposure;
– Security Solution Architecture.
– Business Continuity Solutions Architecture.
– Knowledge of application(s) under responsibility and underlying infrastructure.
– Understanding of business areas and able to interpret business requirements.
– IT project management methodologies.

Desirable Exposure;
– Previous Business Continuity Architecture expertise within a large retail business.
